Security personnel intercepted an intruder at the Malibu residence of former Vice President Kamala Harris late Friday night, according to statements from law enforcement and her representatives. The breach occurred around 10:30 p.m., when private guards spotted an individual who had illegally entered the property. Fortunately, neither Harris nor her husband, Doug Emhoff, were at the home during the encounter. A spokesperson for Harris expressed gratitude toward the security team and officers who acted quickly to resolve the situation.
Deputies from the Malibu Lost Hills station arrived shortly after receiving reports of a suspicious person already in custody by private staff. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the individual was found outside the property upon their arrival and was ordered to leave the premises. The trespasser complied voluntarily and departed without further incident, though authorities have since filed a formal trespassing report and pledged to increase patrols in the neighborhood as a precautionary measure.

While vice presidents usually receive six months of Secret Service protection, former President Joe Biden had previously extended Harris’s detail to eighteen months.
